Piled Foundation designs overcame difficult ground conditions

Being an infilled clay quarry, ground conditions were known to have very low infiltration rates and poor bearing capacity, requiring positive drainage and piled foundations. In addition to designing the permanent foundation system, we also provided designs for the temporary piling mat and visited Site to discuss temporary works for draining the Site, which frequently flooded during construction, until our drainage system was installed. We included attenuation in the subbase beneath the car-parking and foul drainage connected to a vacuum system.
